I love black and white photography .
I felt like I might be going out on a limb by offering just black and white but I love a good black and white picture and want to stretch myself with you, Do you ever look at something so simple and say, that is stunning. Black and white images take away the distraction and you just see the light falling on your subject and depending on how you use the light and the moment, it quiets the mind and brings you back to the basics of light and dark, highlight and shadow.
If you’re concerned about looking your best for your pictures then I do recommend having a make-up artist or hair and make-up artist present for your session. I work with makeup artists who are specialize in headshots and have been trained in makeup specifically for photography. They will work with you to talk through how much makeup you usually wear, what colours and tones, and will build upon your usual look to make it photo-ready, so your features pop and you look naturally beautiful.
Prepare for your pictures by taking care of yourself in the week leading up to your shoot. Avoid drinking alcohol or smoking, and drink plenty of water for a few days and on the day of your meeting. This will make your skin very hydrated to fill in lines and wrinkles, under eye circles, and give you a healthy glow. Get plenty of sleep the night before your photo so you’re rested and ready to go.
Choose an outfit that has a classic look: you shouldn’t be able to tell what decade it is in the photo. Don’t choose anything with bold, distracting patterns or colours, unless you can layer a blazer or sweater over it so not much of the pattern is showing.
